O modelo Xcelsior AV\u2122 (100% el\u00e9trico) \u00e9 fruto do Programa de Tecnologia Automatizada da New Flyer, anunciado pela primeira vez em maio de 2019, em parceria com a l\u00edder de intelig\u00eancia artificial e automa\u00e7\u00e3o Robotic Research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Para que a automatiza\u00e7\u00e3o possa estar no modo de opera\u00e7\u00e3o, o Xcelsior AV\u2122 conta com duas tecnologias prim\u00e1rias. A primeira \u00e9 o AutoDrive\u00ae, sistema de auto-condu\u00e7\u00e3o da Robotic Research, servindo como os &#8220;olhos e c\u00e9rebro&#8221; dessa autonomia, processando o mundo ao redor do \u00f4nibus, incluindo o mapeamento sobre o ambiente, permitindo a tomada de decis\u00f5es e a navega\u00e7\u00e3o pelas rotas. A segunda \u00e9 o AutoDrive ByWire da Robotic Research\u2122 (sistema drive-by-wire), servindo como as &#8220;m\u00e3os e p\u00e9s&#8221; do sistema automatizado, controlando a dire\u00e7\u00e3o, frenagem e acelerador.
