Se a partir do ano de 1979 a montadora Volvo passou a disponibilizar seus chassis com motoriza\u00e7\u00e3o central (horizontal), sendo precursora comercial em solo brasileiro, a extinta F\u00e1brica Nacional de Motores ou mais conhecida como FNM, teve a iniciativa de ser a primeira fabricante nacional a desenvolver um propulsor semelhante, que foi equipado no modelo monobloco rodovi\u00e1rio de outra encarro\u00e7adora que n\u00e3o existe mais, a Massari.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>O referido \u00f4nibus, com sua vers\u00e3o rodovi\u00e1ria RCPA, foi apresentado em 1964, tendo como caracter\u00edsticas as suas linhas retas na \u00e1rea externa, 12 metros de comprimento, motor D-11000 Mille com seis cilindros e 175 cv de pot\u00eancia e ainda suspens\u00e3o a ar. Apesar do ineditismo do ve\u00edculo, n\u00e3o h\u00e1 registros se ele obteve sucesso comercial no mercado brasileiro, por ser um ve\u00edculo com alto n\u00edvel de acabamento e tecnol\u00f3gico, al\u00e9m do que, mais caro. Seus modelos para \u00f4nibus adotavam a motoriza\u00e7\u00e3o dianteira e traseira, sendo que a vers\u00e3o com motor central foi pouco comercializada.
