Segundo Francisco Christovam, presidente-executivo da NTU, um ter\u00e7o do custo do transporte vem do diesel, e isso se reflete nas tarifas, por\u00e9m as altas acumuladas desde o ano passado superam em muito essas recentes redu\u00e7\u00f5es. \u201cPara sonharmos com algum efeito positivo sobre as tarifas, precisar\u00edamos de cortes mais expressivos no custo do diesel. \u00c9 preciso ainda levar em conta a situa\u00e7\u00e3o daquelas cidades que est\u00e3o com as tarifas represadas desde o in\u00edcio da pandemia e, portanto, com desequil\u00edbrios econ\u00f4mico-financeiros a recuperar\u201d, informou o executivo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A entidade ressalta que os aumentos do diesel entre junho do ano passado e maio deste ano, da ordem de 80,9%, impactaram em 26,5% a tarifa p\u00fablica dos \u00f4nibus urbanos, em m\u00e9dia. Para Christovam, custo \u00e9 uma quest\u00e3o de engenharia e de economia, enquanto a decis\u00e3o sobre aumento ou redu\u00e7\u00e3o da tarifa \u00e9 uma quest\u00e3o pol\u00edtica e social, \u00e9 ato discricion\u00e1rio do prefeito ou do governador, no caso das linhas intermunicipais. &#8220;Se o poder p\u00fablico fixar um valor de tarifa no mesmo patamar da remunera\u00e7\u00e3o devida \u00e0s empresas, a conta estar\u00e1 equilibrada. Se a tarifa p\u00fablica ficar abaixo da tarifa de remunera\u00e7\u00e3o, que deve cobrir os custos do servi\u00e7o, o prefeito ou governador ter\u00e3o que subsidiar os passageiros e, se necess\u00e1rio, buscar as chamadas receitas extratarif\u00e1rias.
